The Lula B. Sherman Ensemble and Band are performing on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Lula B. Sherman United Methodist Church, Winfield Hall; 2214 Ridge Avenue, Evanston. The Ensemble features vocalists Veronica Davenport, Venita Fields and Debbie Chisolm-Wynter. These three divas will perform a collection of Jazz and R&B favorites including music from the songbooks of Aretha Franklin, Sade and Roberta Flack. The Ensemble will be accompanied by band members Jeffrey Hardy, Darryl Petty, Chris Greene, Vuuyani Wakaba and Charlie Horne. The performance will consist of two sets with a 20-minute intermission. Complimentary refreshments will be served during intermission provided by local Evanston restaurateurs Clarence and Wendy Weaver, owners of C&W Market.
